The answer is obviously yes. We don't have anyone else who stops the ball or plays through pick and roll as Bede. We suffer defensively when he's not on the floor. If we had another player who could play defense *well* at this critical spot and still be competent offensively then Mike Young would be playing them.

This isn't that hard to understand. Unless you simply can't understand that basketball is played at both ends of the floor.

As an example, right now Jalen Cone is a 0-dimensional player. At least Bede provides one, extremely important, dimension. But since most people can't actually see what Bede provides they incessantly criticize him and wonder what the hell Mike Young is thinking.

Some of us are trying to explain what the hell Mike Young is thinking. But to no avail apparently.
