Maybe he hasn't been offered yet but he will soon enough.

Maybe he wants to get twice what he's making before he leaves (an elite job), as opposed to any other B1G/SEC job that would pay more but not that much more. I would definitely build my reputation up at a school where everything is working for me and my guys than go to a minor school in the SEC/B1G and start over and hope things work for me again.
