Does college football have the luxury of giving the appearance
that it is becoming more "professional." Right now the NFL, the CFL, and the other professional leagues are able to use college football as a free minor league system. If college football starts becoming more professional, then could it get to the point where the NFL sees it as potential competition. Now it may not be serious competition, but it could get to the point where some athletes could decide to sign "contracts" with the college to play instead of moving on to the professional leagues after the 3-5 years are up.
I guess my point is could the NFL change the way it is currently doing business by either creating a minor league/development league or change the number of years the player has to be removed from high school in order to be eligible to play in the NFL.
