First let me preface my comments with I realize UVA is a top 10 team and this was a road ACC game. My comments are not specific to this one game though this game influenced my opinion to a degree. I really like Coach Buzz and am NOT talking him down. I am a casual basketball fan trying to inject common sense into my opinion. With all that out of the way....

I can see the progress of VT basketball since Buzz has been here. It is obvious and I think that everyone would agree. What I don't see, and what is so damn frustrating to fans like me is a steady improvement throughout the season and especially game to game. It's like Buzz is an off season coach but doesn't seem to insist on game to game progression. If he insists on playing a zone, or THAT zone, you would think the team would gradually improve its grasp of it and ability to implement it. But it looks the same. Opponents torch it game after game after game. Same with rebounding. Why don't we see any improvement on these obvious week spots from one game to the next. Or one week to the next? To my novice eyes this team makes the same mistakes over and over again and I see nothing different in the way Buzz approaches the problems. Hell I would like to see him be a bit more demanding and get in the teams face a little here and there.

I realize we are short on numbers, don't have many bigs and the makeup of the team is somewhat limited due to injuries and other factors. But I would hope to see something obvious to my eye that would tell me that Buzz was trying to address these areas of weakness.

Ok gurus, tell me what Im not seeing that would make me feel better!!
