I think it's an extreme disconnect as to what "benefits" means
To you, it means "I get these seats on the 40 every single year." To the Hokie Club it means "He gets the right to purchase tickets; which tickets he can purchase depends on the per-seat ticket super-bonus we just installed."
Technically, they're right -- they didn't take away the benefit. The benefit at the core is the ability to buy tickets, not the seat location. But the way they went about it has alienated far too many fans.
