This is just silly. I mean, like "fake news" silly.

If true, you'd see coaches purposely tanking their final 1-2 games -- just to improve their chances of the "better" 10/11 seed.

Years ago, when you had dominant 1-seeds (think of Larry Johnson UNLV + Laettner Duke) -- maybe there was an argument to avoiding the 1-seed as long as possible.

But these days, the margin between 1/2/3 seeds is relatively small.
