Counter argument against Fuente's lack of transparency with the program

As long as it yields the results I am for it. However, one can argue that it didn't hurt VT, when Beamer was fairly open with practices, scrimmages and player info. If anything it garnered greater interest in the program by allowing journalists to write about the program during the off season and allow fans to have more insightful discussions on boards such as these. They key is making sure things that wont put the program at a disadvantage isn't made public. What hurt the program under Beamer during his later years was not the level of transparency the program had but rather recruiting misses, certain coaching hires, and the playbook, particularly on offense.
