But the basketball arena is not only antiquated by today's standards, it doesn't really have the capability to truly get to what we need out of it. There just isn't enough space and the way it is built will make it very difficult to create much more space.

Reading between the lines, it sounds as if this renovation will be a heavy renovation that stops short of a gut job, but will extend the life of Cassell 10-20 more years before we have a dire need for a new arena.
