It is his interest in those programs. If programs have offered a scholarship to him, they are very interested. You are making very bold and outlandish accusations and making yourself look pretty foolish because of your misunderstanding.
All of those programs being "cool" just means he has no clear cut favorite of where he wants to go (or 247, rivals, whatever doesn't know).
