The state of VA is still in the group behind the Big 3


However, I am not sure it has the quality of depth that it once did. If schools are expected to recruit heavily from their home state and perform at a Top 10 level, then a VA school may have a tougher time regularly competing against a school from a "Big 3" state, AL, OH, LA, (maybe) MS, (maybe) GA, and (maybe) either of the Carolinas.
