Yep, and he's right.
Even at VT, we see half-a-dozen recruits every year say that they are going to major in engineering, and they picked VT partially due to engineering.
And then they actually enroll, and they major in something other than engineering because they are told pretty quickly that it's almost impossible to play football and be an engineering major.
And that's not right or wrong. It's just the way life is sometimes, whether we're talking college football or something else. Sometimes you have to pick one thing over the other. I want Tech to win football games. If they practiced less so more guys could go to more classes, they'd lose, and then our business (TSL I mean) would lose. If something needs to change, it needs to change at the NCAA level. There is no reason for VT to fall on the sword for the sake of principle. The other big schools would just watch us writhing on the ground and point and laugh.
