And probably more like 7-10 as I mentioned. And those are minimum time frames. The reality is that it might be 15+ years before a renovation or replacement is done. Though if the Drive for 25 does go well, hopefully sooner.

As far as a new arena goes, I agree that we'll never see a 15K plus arena at VT or in the general Roanoke/Blacksburg area. I think a new arena would be looking at a capacity of between 9500 and 11K. But given the way Cassell is built, there's a good chance they will find that renovating is cost prohibitive.

Hence, if a good renovation can be done for $50 mil and capacity can be 8k+, they'll renovate. But if the choice is to renovate an old Cassell for $70 mil and have a capacity of 8500-9000 or build a brand new 10K arena with some modern amenities for $100 mil, don't be surprised if they choose the latter.
