Not really. I have been involved in "travel"/club sports for 20 years

and it isn't ruining rec sports. I will say that most rec sports are hard to watch. Parents coaching their own kids, running screen plays to get their best player the ball to score is what hurts rec sports. Artificial rules that don't allow kids to really learn how to play ruins rec sports. I will say the level of teaching and competition that I see at the "club" level exceeds the value people get in rec sports. There is a false image of "travel".
