One nice thing is that men that might be his mentors, are coaches that stayed the course once in place. The guy at Illinois State stayed 8 years there and he was connected to Oklahoma where coaches don't leave willingly. And then, of course, he coached under Gary Patterson who gets named for every coaching search and he has built a very nice little nest there. He didn't even leave TCU when it looked like they were stuck in the AAC.
