Just watched the replay. Here are my thoughts.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker was the best player on the court today. This kid is special. We're very lucky he chose to come to VT. He will be one of the best freshman in the ACC this year.

I was really happy to see Kerry Blackshear, Chris Clarke and Devin Wilson back. I had missed those guys. Good to have them all back and contributing.

I thought Tyrie Jackson looked good. Defends well and can knock down shots. I was impressed with him as a freshman contributor.

PJ Horne looks like a solid contributor. It's good to see we have another big man behind Blackshear.

I don't feel like I got a good sense of what Bede and Fullard offer. I didn't get a long enough look at either of them in this game.

You can tell South Carolina didn't have their best game but the Hokies looked impressive regardless. Defended well. Moved the ball well. Forced turnovers. Looks like a talented and relatively deep team.

I think this team on the surface looks like it *could* be better than last year's but they will miss LeDay's hard-nosed play and Seth Allen's ability to hit big shots. But they have a lot of new talent to make up for it. Optimistic after one exhibition game.
