Serious question. Why are cut blocks legal?
Seems like the propensity for injury to the player being blocked is much greater, as observed by many of our defense getting injured. Settle and Hill's injuries looked to be the result of cut blocks. This would be a great way to increase safety.
Also, why was our #13 called for an illegal block on the opening kickoff of 2nd half? It looked like the same type of cut block that GT was doing all game. Is cut blocking illegal on kickoffs?
Finally, for those who listened to our game on the radio, didn't that GT PA guy get under your skin with that dramatic "first down" declaration?
