- the offense has stunk most of the season when not playing scrubs
- the kicker is (I think) the all-time points leader at VT

Shut up. Some statistics book doesn't take into account what the coaches knew - that our offense was garbage and our kicker was money.

You take that chip shot field goal, then you don't have to go for 2-point conversion attempts later, and late in the game it's 28-27 (them), and we can go for a field goal to win the game instead of relying on an offense that hadn't done much impressive all game long.

Frank may not have been much of an offensive guru, but he knew when to take the points and keep his team in it for late.
