Can VT ever win the bigger games with our current defense scheme....

I give Bud Foster a huge amount of the credit (along with Beamer and Vick) for VT's rise in the college football world. But I question if we can take the next step and win the games on the big stage with his current defense scheme where we sell out the secondary to stop the run. Granted most of the time it works but against either a great passer or a QB who can run we give up big play after big play. Yesterday it was GT, last week it was Miami and early in the year it was Clemson. They each gashed our defense for big play after big play. My sincere question is does his scheme ask the players to do more than they're capable of on a consistent basis. I'd like to hear people's thoughts.
