and the NFL ditched Thurs night games, I am not sure the quality of Thurs night football would improve. Part of the issue is that some of the games will involve 1-2 teams coming off a short week. I believe the NFL is running into a similar problem now. If teams don't have enough time to prepare for a Thurs game, then the quality of play will typically be bad. Also, I am not sure you would find too many top rated P5 teams that would be willing to save their "open date" until late Oct/early Nov to use the week before their Thurs game.
