Johnson is like Cutcliffe at Duke in one sense.

Duke knows and recognizes it will never play football at the highest levels. Compared to where they used to be, a laughing stock, they are very happy. If Coach Cutcliffe maintains what he is doing, they will be happy until he actually retires.

And any reasonable GT fans realizes the same thing goes for GT. Gone are the days when they ruled the Coastal with us. But as long as they are competitive and winning 8 games a year they can live with that.
