The data says they don’t
The one exception I can think is Pete Carroll and I argue that’s because he was corrupt as hell, running USC like a pro program as evidenced by the mess he left behind. The list of college coaches with big time pedigrees flaming out in the NFL is long. And going the other direction, I can only think of Dave Wanstadt who crashed and burned at both levels. I’m sure there are more, but I just don’t think they are that prominent. If you are talking assistants and position coaches, there’s probably a better success rate but that’s just not the same thing.
