Just finished watching the 2014 win over UVA in Blacksburg

Man! What an ugly game! Only reason I was able to watch it was because I knew we were going to win it. I couldn't remember how the scoring went, etc. But it was a mauling, defensive slugfest. I kept thinking, this is how it's going to be tomorrow night.

I'm good with JJax, but I'd like to have Michael Brewer back for one more game tomorrow. That kid was one hell of a baller, tough as a tit on a Texas warthog. He was in and out of the game, beat up, but he kept coming back. That's the game he told his Oline, "if you keep pushing forward, I'll keep getting up off the ground." Damn! Now that's leadership that brings a tear to your eye.

Virginia scored to make it 20-17 late in the fourth quarter. Brewer threw a 50 yard pass to Bucky Hodges inside the 10 yard line. A couple of plays later Brewer passed again to Hodges over the middle as he fell into the end zone. 24-20 us at that point.

On the ensuing possession Dadi Nicholas knocked QB Lambert out of the game. Backup Johns drove Virginia down the field, and actually scored on about a 30 yard run, but the play was called back because Virginia had an ineligible receiver downfield. If not for that we would of lost the game.

I think tomorrow night's game is going to be similar. Both offenses are struggling, but the defenses, especially Tech's, are playing good.
I think Tech's D is going to carry some momentum from the goal line stop at the end of the Pitt game. But I smell one of those gut wrenchers where I'll have to turn off the TV and walk away. I HATE it when it gets like that. If Virginia doesn't win tomorrow, they'll never beat us. At least our bowl streak is alive.
