Hoo OC calling his guys soft and talent gap too big for him to gameplan...

“[Benkert] stood in, got whacked around,” Anae said. “I thought for the most part he was good with the football under the circumstances. The other 10 guys on the offense showed hesitation, being soft. A lot of things that surfaced throughout the year surfaced tonight on the offensive side and it showed we’re not able to run the ball and we were not able to protect consistently, and were not able to get open. All that stress ends up at the foot of the quarterback.”

Anae said when gauging the Cavaliers against the Hokies, that when it came to the trenches, at least his O-line against Tech’s front seven, “we are not in the ballpark and that’s what’s showing up on the scoreboard.”

He said with that gap in talent along the line, he couldn’t come up with a game plan to accommodate the difference.
