Notre Dame nearly hiring George O'Leary about 10 years ago, renegging when it was found that his resume contained false info about his college degrees. Or something similar to that IIRC. O'Leary wound up at UCF, but to this day I think of that stigma to his name when I hear or read his name. It's a shame he never gets to redeem his name.

Now comes Schiano with an even worse perversion against his good name. Really ugly. He will forever be tainted by this guilt by association. But unfortunately in our culture perception is reality. So many innocents are caught up in this dilemma. I don't know if Schiano is guilty or innocent, but the Penn State tragedy has touched way too many lives, and society's self righteous attitudes will never let it go. Redemption be damned. Sad commentary.
