Year 2 of Fuente Era—-What’s the key learnings this far.

(1) detailed oriented. This coaching staff is detailed oriented in game planning, recruiting board, player & team leadership development, physical and mental development in off season. They create a plan, work the plan, & deliver a plan.

(2) Winning Hidden Yards. Coach Shibest hire and contribution in the kicking game can’t be complimented enough. Heck from blocked punts/punt returns to pinning opponents deep against their own end zone. Shibest Units have set up both the offense and defense sides of VT quite well.

(3) integrity. Probably something we’ve taken for granted but got a reminder of what a class act Coach Fuente is after seeing Bronco throw his seniors under the bus, to how other coaches have handled adversity poorly. Fuente warned the Hokie Nation points would not come easy, yet his team went out and then led his team to 9+ wins. (2x)

(4) Lack of Transparency— Pretty sure its more than the limited offensive weapons ra had, but rather the Coaching Staff’s belief that being so clandestine on injuries/Practice access and press coverage etc makes our opponents job harder to game plan. 19-6. Probably some truth there. Still, at times feels like some unnecessary frustration due to lack of transparency. because something fell off with QB Jackson’s throwing mechanics before the UNC Game causing his deep balls to come up short and accuracy fall off. Thanks

(7) Dramatically expanded recruiting reach into closest metropolitan cities to Blacksburg: Triad/CLT & RDU. NC2VT! Brilliant!!!

Let’s Go...Bowling Hokies!!!
