I know we went through this dog-and-pony show all the time back in the early 2000's and two things became clear: (1) CBF was not going to take a small-time job, and (2) a lot of the big-time jobs weren't interested in his less-than-polished presentation. But I was just reading ESPN's list of "options" for the UT job and Venables and Steele were both on there. If you are looking at resumes of DC's, I think Foster's trumps all.

It may be that he has made clear he isn't interested anymore. Or the (I think false) word has spread that CBF isn't "head coaching material" based on interviews he may have given when he was a hot commodity. But damn, the guy has to be one of the five best defensive minds in the college game over the past 25 years. Can't believe UT hasn't at least made a phone call given the predicament they are in.
