You will find very few people here who...
think scheduling 250+ games is a good thing. Simply replacing them with 150-250 teams provides a solid RPI boost with no significant increase in difficulty for a truly tournament-worthy team. That kind of scheduling would be smarter and no more difficult than what we have now... it would just create the appearance of difficulty that is key to gaming RPI.
I have no problem with the OOC schedule being a Big10 challenge team, a UK, an Ole Miss and a tourney where u run up against a St Louis (who could be good or bad in any given year) and a chance at a Providence (good) or Washington (bad). Sucks we lost to St Louis who probably isn’t very good and ended up with Washington instead of Providence. Five potential decent to very good OOC opponents along with a bunch of 150-250 teams is more than enough to get you a solid seed in the tourney if you deserve it... especially with the kind of ACC schedule we have this year.
