Dabo disses Urban

Saw this on MSN....

The notion that Ohio State’s Urban Meyer may not be long for coaching, put forth by Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, was a factor Jackson Carman’s decision to play for the Tigers next season, the five-star offensive tackle said Wednesday.

While many college football observers were expecting Carman, who is from Fairfield, Ohio, to stay in his home state and play for the Buckeyes, he said Swinney suggesting Meyer was “on the back end of his career” was among the reasons he’s heading south.
Asked whether he used such tactics to lure Carman away from Ohio State, Swinney said something along the lines of, “I don’t remember," far from a denial.
Meyer is 53 years old, just five years Swinney's elder, although issues with Meyer's health led him to leave Florida after the 2010 season, a fact that potentially adds veracity to Swinney’s claim.

Carman’s decision — and the manner in which Swinney might have helped him make it — must be particularly irksome to Ohio State fans, who watched their Buckeyes get blown out by the Tigers 31-0 in last season’s College Football Playoffs.

As for Clemson, Carman is one piece of a massive 2018 recruiting haul, as the Tigers on Wednesday also firmed up the commitments of No. 1 overall prospect QB Trevor Lawrence and DE Xavier Thomas.
