A new low for UVA

I realize every fan base has its morons. And teams have players who do not represent their university or team well by actions they take (case in point Marcus Vick's foot stomp, Dadi Nicolas and his slap) But this one makes my blood boil. After the first kickoff in the Navy game, there were fans chanting "Pearl Harbor, Pearl Harbor".It was reported on thesabre.

I also read that the UVA players walked through the USNA warm up lines before the game- reported in the dailyprogress (as they were egged on by members of the coaching staff), got off their bus after the teams' dinner, then flexed and talked trash at the NA bus. Finally, they talked trash pretty much the whole game (even when getting throttled on the field).

As a coach it would be near impossible to curtail inexcusable behavior by fans in the stands, but your own players disrespecting members of the service academy? Young men who would give up their own life for yours? I just don't understand CBM's thinking on this. You don't tolerate that behavior. You sit out every. single. player who acts that way. Bench them. Make a statement with your actions or it can and will continue. No wonder those USNA kids kicked the crap out of the Hoos.

I have dear, dear friends who went to school in Charlottesville. I love them to pieces, and I bet if and when they get wind of these stories (assuming they are all valid), they will cringe and be so embarrassed and appalled. One can stomach having a team that is struggling to win games, but not one that is an embarrassment for their lack of ethical and morally appropriate behavior.
