Yeah, the press requires much more energy expenditure.


WVU is so good at it because it's their identity and Huggins runs those players into the ground to ensure they have the conditioning to do it. If that isn't your "identity" I think it can really affect your shooting. Honestly, I thought your guys' early energy was good and it had me worried. The defensive intensity was high, you guys were all over Kyle Guy and pressured the ball hard. But when UVA started to break down the press and the fact that it was causing almost no turnovers, I was surprised Buzz stuck with it. Particularly after the full court pass to Salt who had no one within 30 feet of him.

I truthfully didn't expect a UVA win last night and I don't think anyone expected a 26-point win. It seems to always come down to a possession or 2 in Blacksburg. A half-court man defense seems to be tougher for our offense, which can sometimes get bogged down. Was really shocked to not see it. And I think you guys would have shot better. Just my 2 cents.
