Ditto. I'm was the President of a 50 home community for 3 years..


Still on board. Dropped off from presidency because I couldn't take the morons any longer. People would literally stop me in my driveway to complain that so and so's dog pooped in their yard. I'd ask "well have you talked to them about it?" The answer was almost always no but somehow they'd want me to solve it. Pooping dogs, trash cans, neighbors mowing too far into someones yard, etc... etc...

HOAs have a place but that place is to keep idiots from being idiots and parking cars or storing garbage in the front yard and paying the utilities/entrance maintenance. Not dictating flags, holiday decorations, or garage door closures etc... The idiocy of about 5 to 10% of the population amazes me daily.
