They have a VERY fertile recruiting territory. If they can convince even 20% of the guys who have traditionally left the state for the Virginia Techs and West Virginias of the world to stay home and win with UCF, they can be the next Boise State. They aren't going to poach anyone from Florida, FSU, or Miami... but some kids who don't get those offers would still prefer to stay home and UCF is a legitimate option for some of them. I would guess that USF will be able to parlay some recruiting success out of UCF's season too (if they can do it, surely we can too... heck we nearly beat them in Orlando that year).

And in a few years when the playoff is expanded, there will be a potential in for G5 schools. They'll be the 8 seed every time... but they will get their chance.
