I have wondered why Saban waited to pull out his FR QB in the final game.
I don’t remember all of the background and if he had gotten a lot of mop up duty play earlier in the season, but I’m surprised that he waited until the last half of the final game to play him. I’m thinking it was a calculated gamble at best- I don’t see him as a big gambler, although I do see him as savvy at hiding things. He obviously knew how talented tua was before that.
They likely went into the game with the plan to play him if Jalen Hurts had any difficulties. Brilliant plan bc opponents wouldn’t have any film on him to prepare for.
Maybe I’m giving Saban too much credit. And maybe tua is just that good. I guess we’ll see later this year.
