1. Cash flow. The business model at vt does not support a replacement. There is not adequate capital debt limits and contributions to support it. Further the strain of payments would severely limit the athletic dept to support other pressures such as salary pressures to retain coaches increases of price for scholarships and impact of new tax rules.
Vt is working on a phased renovation of cassel . Phase 1 the nutrition center starts it. The other phases will be packaged with the university’s planned capital campaign that will kick off in 2019. Renovation will be 40-50 million. Also FYI vt working on capital project for renovation to lane east side -,concession support premium seating etc . Not much details right now. Willl be included in capital program . Vt working it . But can’t just whip out a check.
