Some schools, like UVa and Pitt attempted almost 50% more 3's against us than average on the season.

I don't have time to dig really deep, but the main driver behind that is likely how fast we play and how poor we rebound, not necessarily poor perimeter defense. I don't have the number but I'd bet money that we give up significantly more shots in general than most other teams because of that.

We certainly sped UVa up, much to our chagrin as they methodically dismantled us in every facet of the game.
