Watching Buzz last night made me want to put a jersey on and play

However, it takes a special player to play in his system and I think us fans forget that sometimes. Because of this, we may miss out on some of the top recruits in the country who are only on a pit stop before going pro, but that is okay with me. Look at Villanova and Purdue and other schools who mainly have players stay their four years of college. And those teams are not just good. They are really good. They have a program and a system. That's what I believe we are going to have at Tech and it does take more than 4 years to develop.

I'm just wondering...what would it have looked like, not only to us, but especially to UNC and their players, coaches and fan base to see us not storm the court after beating them? I get why college kids storm the court. It's fun and it has been a challenging year so far. When you compare Carolina's tradition to ours, it's not even a contest, and they are the defending national champions. But I dream of the days when we beat a Top 10 team and act like that is what is expected of us. The whole "fake it until you make it" thing. I get the argument of "let the students have fun" but you can still party and celebrate beating a Top 10 team without storming the court.

Honestly, if I were Buzz, I would have prepped the fan base before the game to tell them to not storm the court after we beat Carolina, and act like we have been there before. Send the message that this is expected. I definitely think not storming the court sends a very powerful message that we don't plan on this being a once a year thing. We plan on this being a normal part of our new hoops culture here at VA Tech. I'm not a fan of the "overrated" chant either but that's a topic for another day. Haha.

Either way...great win and GO HOKIES!
