you're never better off losing a given game than winning it

although the way the RPI works, you very well may be better off losing to a high quality opponent than beating a low quality one...especially if it's a road loss vs. a home win

and it's pretty tough to build a 68-team field without double-digit loss teams, isn't it? and of course they don't historically get very far in the tournament
