We need to show we can beat tournament teams to get in the tournament. Clemson, Duke, Louisville and Miami are tournament teams. Those games matter so much more to VTs tournament hopes, because it's all about who you beat.

Example, say we win 2 of the next 5. The RPI rankings of every possible 2-win scenario are below. What looks the best?

W over 158 and 6
W over 158 and 41
W over 158 and 5
W over 158 and 28

W over 6 and 41
W over 6 and 5
W over 6 and 28

W over 41 and 5
W over 41 and 28

W over 5 and 28

Will it look bad if we lose to GT on the road today? Sure. Will anybody care if we beat Clemson and Duke afterwards? No. Will they care if we beat Louisville and @Miami? No.

Will it look good if we beat GT today? Maybe. Will that win matter if we lose three of the last four or all of the last four? No, it won't.

So, repeat after me. This is the least important game VT has remaining.
