Not quite... here is the simplest way to look at it
In your scenario if NCSt loses to Louisville and Louisville also beats UVa, we are still 5th.
Here's the simplest way to put it. If we beat Miami, our worst seed is #6.
We move up ONE spot for each of these things that happens:
1) Duke beating UNC
2) Syracuse beating Clemson
3) Whoever win's Saturday's Louisville/NC State game LOSES tonight (NCSt @GT, Louisville vs UVa)
So if all 3 of those things happen, we are a 3 seed.
If two of them happen, we are a 4 seed.
If one of them happens, we are a 5 seed.
If none of them happens, we are a 6 seed.
Meanwhile, if we lose to Miami, our worst seed is 8. We would move up to 7 if whoever LOSES Saturday's Louisville/NCState game loses tonight (Lou vs UVa, NCSt @GT).
