My issue is that RPI makes good teams look bad, and bad teams look good
By RPI, Virginia Tech looks like one of the worst at large selections to make the field along with NC State and Arizona State. Compare that to KenPom where VT is 32nd, NC State is 41st and Arizona State is 45th. I'm just saying if you get too caught up in RPI, you can lose sight of the good teams with bad RPIs.
St Bonaventure has an RPI of 24 (the reason they are in the tournament) but they are 69th (nice.) according to KenPom. An example of a bad team looking good.
