I’m partial to Merrill’s Marauders...


but I’m biased. My maternal grandfather was one of the 2750 original volunteer Marauders who marched 1000 miles from India over the mountains into Burma and behind Japanese lines. Five months of fighting behind enemy lines, vastly outnumbered and completely kicked the Japanese 18th Division’s arse. Here is a pic of him setting up a machine gun nest in Burma...
