In this case, stealth is not needed - just a huge payload and targeting/net

And the BUFF is actually much more adaptive to this changing tech nology (maybe owing to the slide rule design???).

One might assume that sooner or later everything in these suckers is going to be replaced - but the airframe is so adaptive to the changed mission requirements (stay way out of range and fling hypersonic missles targeted from F-22 or F-35) - or smart munitions instead of dumb iron, with a huge loiter time (request is a 40% improvement in fuel efficency for the re-engine program).

Attached a great article on the concept - Navy is (in its own bumbling way, and I work for them, so no bias) looking to do the same with distributed lethality, rail gun, drones (minus the refuleing drone debacle), and new missiles. Enjoy - looking forward to your comments back!
