Read the article, that's not what he's saying at all

He's just saying they should have handled the travel differently after Game Two. It went to OT so it ended late. For some reason they decided to head back to Columbus that night, making for a much longer night than it should have been. The Caps, on the other hand, likely went home and were asleep less than an hour after the game ended -- and then didn't go to Columbus until the next day or even the day after.

So, yeah, I can see that affecting them ... but I don't agree that it'd still be affecting them for Game 4. I mean, that's the sort of thing that you power through it the first day and then maybe feel it the next day. With the NHL playoff scheduled, Game 2 was April 15 and Game 4 was April 19. Chances are more than his team ran out of gas due to conditioning overall after three straight playoff games. But even if their travel bit 'em, oh well. Tough noogies to them -- it was their own doing and a stupid decision, IMHO -- but hey, at least they saved the money they woulda spent on an extra night for 50 in a DC hotel!
