Slightly under the radar


Finding and developing the guys who are just under the radar and have the potential and drive to outperform their high school rankings (Ty Walz and Jared Haught as recent examples) is the only way for the schools not named Penn State, Ohio State or Iowa to move into the podium race on a consistent basis.

For every McFadden or Hidlay known commodity that VT or NC State gets, they need even more slightly under the radar guys like Walz and Haught ... at least until they are on or close enough to the podium on a regular basis to compete for more top 5 guys.

I personally think VT (and NC State) do about a good a job as any team of finding and developing guys like that.
