I bought in bigly about 2 yrs ago. Now I'm dependent on it & order frequent

ly. It's way too easy for repeat purchases. I just say "Alexa order dog food" as I'm filling their bowls and she does the rest. "Based on your order history, I've found Diamond Naturals, Beef flavor, 40 pounds. It's $34.15 delivered including taxes. Would you like me to order it?"

We have a TON of lamps and ambient light in the house and they're all controlled by smart switches. The switches are also timers so they come on automatically at 6am and we tell Alexa to turn them all off whenever we go to bed. I also have fans in my shop attached to smart switches so if I'm out there and it's getting hot I can just say "Alexa, turn on the shop fans."

Hell my sprinkler system is Alexa enabled now. If we're walking around and see that the viburnum need watering I just tell Alexa to water the viburnums.

I resisted for years because of the whole invasion of privacy, always listening thing. Then I heard story after story about smart televisions, phones, etc that were doing it and I gave in to convenience. I'll tell you this, a few weeks back when I cut the fiber to my house and was without internet for three days, I was LOST.
