Quit in 2000

Few months after getting married wife and I both quit. Realized all of our fights/arguments occurred when we were drinking. Always considered myself a "happy" drinker, but decided it wasn't worth it. Tough in beginning - buddies gave me a hard time and I had to watch them "have fun" at get-togethers. Looking back, glad I did it. Lots of ways to have fun/relax without drinking. I'm sure we saved a ton of money too and our kids don't see us act like asses (well maybe sometimes). I enjoy having a clear mind and I get a lot done on weekends. No regrets. Drinking is really just a cultural thing and/or self-medication, IMHO. Fine for some, terrible for others, not necessary for most. Whatever gets you by, I guess - I don't need it.
