Well this blows. My buddy setup a Boomerang Boat Cruise fundraiser on the

Potomac for this evening. Set up it over a month ago to raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Boomerang was great, agreed to donate everything other than operating costs to the charity. Tickets are $75 and include top shelf open bar. As of this morning only 25 tickets have been purchased and if he doesn't get a minimum 30 the thing will be cancelled.

We were expecting more week-of sales but the weather certainly shot that to hell. This sucks for two reasons: Obviously the most important one being that the fundraiser won't happen and the charity won't get any money. Secondarily, the guy lives in Wisconsin and is flying in specifically for this event. He was nominated as LLS Man of the Year and every dollar he raises counts as a 'vote' for him. I don't think he really wins anything other than a title, it's just an incentive to get people to compete to raise as much as possible with the money going to the charity. This was supposed to be a big his big money maker.
