When you guys type an @sign and then type a few letters, do you not see a list of usernames displayed that you can pick from? Like shown in the screencap below? That's how this feature works, just like on Twitter.

To activate the @-mentions, type the @-sign, then type 3 characters from the username you're attempting to @-mention. A list should come up, then select one from the list.

Warning: Do NOT @-mention "hokie" ... that will just lock up your browser!
