I pondered the appeal of this show for a while, and concluded


that its hook is the appeal. I saw a few songs performed by the cast and they didn't seem special or even very good in any way except for the hook of a multiracial cast rapping songs in a Colonial setting. Which is fine - I love hip hop and rap (Cube, PE, etc.). What I don't like is when something is considered good because it's "a thing." I think Hamilton is "a thing." And it's ridiculously expensive. I'll see the off Broadway dinner theatre version in a few years.
