Every golfer will think about doing this at some point

Phil just showed everyone a new strategy when you hit a total crap shot and have the opportunity (stop the ball from heading into la la land and bang the ball toward the hole) to prevent further damage. Many players would gladly take a two shot penalty vs going into a lake, creek, bunker, depending on the situation. I have never even thought about this penalty situation or knew the rule.
